How does Printstow work?
You print as usual to the printer “Printstow”. A local AI model reads sender, document type, date and person, picks one of your folders and saves the PDF there with a clear name.

For anyone who files paperwork digitally: households with several computers, people who keep their documents out of the cloud, and freelancers with lots of receipts.
The privacy-minded
Bank statements, insurance, medical letters: these documents should never leave their own Mac. Printstow reads and sorts them locally, with no account and no cloud.

Instead of “Invoice (4)_new.pdf”, every receipt carries date, sender and type in its name and sits in the right tax folder. Bookkeeping starts with a sorted folder, not a pile.

Privacy
Are my documents safe with Printstow?
Yes. Printstow reads your documents only on your computer, and the AI model ships inside the app. No document, no file name and no usage statistic goes to a server, and there is no account through which we could learn anything.
The AI doesn’t make decisions behind your back either: when it isn’t sure, the document goes to the review folder and you decide. Everything Printstow files is a plain PDF in your folders, which you keep even without Printstow.

Do I need to install Printstow on every computer?
No. Printstow runs on one computer. Other devices on your home network see the printer automatically and print without drivers.
Does Printstow upload my documents?
No. Printstow processes everything on your computer and sends neither documents nor usage data to any server.
Which folders can I use as a destination?
Any regular folder: on your computer, on a NAS, or in a sync folder of iCloud Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive.
Does Printstow work offline?
Yes. The AI model ships with the app, so Printstow sorts without an internet connection.
Can I use Printstow without AI?
Yes. Without AI, Printstow saves every document to your archive folder with the date and time in its file name.
What if Printstow files something wrong?
When it is unsure, Printstow puts the document in a review folder. Everything it files is a plain file you can move as usual.
What happens to my email address?
We only use it to tell you about Printstow. It stays on our own server, is never passed on, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
